Traveling Stash Boxes

Traveling Stash Box Updates

Traveling Stash Boxes are on the move to their new winners and drawings are coming.  Here’s to this weeks update. As always, drawing dates are in RED and are subject to change as new info. comes to me.

Box #1 is still missing. I’m afraid this one may not find it’s way back to us.

Box #2 was Jen @ Just Something I Made drew her winner on the 7th of this month.  Jen’s winner was Crystoll.  Crystoll’s blog is over her at:  I’m sure that we will hear from her soon on her blog for another chance to this Traveling Stash Box to come visit you at your house.

Box #3 is visiting me here. So for a chance to win this box be sure to stay tune for that box further in the posting. My drawing is May 16th.

Box#4 is visiting Jenifer at Second Hand Dinosaur.BlogSpot and I’m waiting for her information so that I can share it with of you as to when her drawing will be.

Box #5 Cheryl at Texas Quilting Gal.BlogSpot has received her box on the 6th and was kind enough to let me know that it got there all safe and sound.  Cheryl was in the middle of painting all her wall before setting up her quilting room when I popped in over at her blog.  Her posting should be up soon for another chance for a TSB to come and visit you.

Box #6 Mary of Mary W Quiltz. BlogSpot was doing some of her own traveling when her box stopped in to see her.  She shares a wonderful story about her stash box as part of her giveaway post.  Mary is having a drawing on May 16th

Well that is everything there is know at this minute in TSB land.  But I bet you would love to see what the box that is  currently in my hot little hands look like…right?  Well here is a sneak peek.

Tricia 003 Tricia 004

It may change a wee bit as I’m thinking of adding a little something something for our Crazy Quilt makers.  Buttons, Ribbons, Satins… oh my!  But there are several large cuts on the top row.  The 1st fabric is 2 yards!!  There are several tulip prints and other floras that might be good for a flower garden quilt for your Mom as a gift to show her how much she means to you.  I also see some modern prints with written words on them that might make nice e-reader covers. Then there’s the 1/2 yard Thimbleberry bundle with that Moda charm pack of “L’amour” by Sandy Gervais. That just a hint of what is in the box.

Now to win a chance for this box to come visit you… Answer this question as it’s Mother’s Day on the 11th.  Tell me any one thing that you have done for your mother to make her feel special.

I will be drawing a winner on May 16th.  If you having any questions about how the Traveling Stash Box works, go here for all the information.

I want to say Thank You to everyone who have embraced the new rule as I read the e-mails that I received on the matter of the Traveling Stash Boxes.  It has been very helpful and things are going smoother.

Until next time…

Those Traveling Stash Boxes Here's An Update

Traveling Stash Boxes

It’s the end of another week and it was brought to my attention that on the last postings, there where some problems.  So I’m here with an update those wondering boxes full of quilter’s stash goodies.  The dates for Known drawings will be in RED.

Box #1 I am sorry to report that this box is missing somewhere in the Postal Delivery Service.  It was last seen heading to Rebecca @ around 3/12/14 from Carol @ So I have once again reached out to no avail. I’m still trying but at this point this box is A.W.O.L. If anyone would like to start another box to replace this please let me know.

Box #2This box has landed at Jenny’s over @ “Just Something I Made” with this link with a drawing for the winner on May 7th. Be sure to stop by for a chance to win.

Box #3This one actually landed on my doorstep this morning.  Thanks Melissa!  It got here all safe & sound.  I will draw a winner on May 16th for this box.

Box#4 Deb picked her winner on May 2nd and now the box is heading to Jeifer @

Box #5 Alison over at also drew her winner on May 2nd.  Her box is heading to Kentucky to its winner
Once I hear that it has landed; I’ll post the blog page with all the info.

Box #6 Malina choose her winner on 4/25. This box is in route to Mary @  I’m sure we will see it her blog very soon.

As much as I hate to do this, I’m adding a new rule to the TSB’s.  I need to have some sort of notification as to where these boxes are. The reason is so that when a box isn’t moving, I can contact someone on one side or the other to see if it has gone astray and it decided to go visit the Post Office Dead Letter Office.  So Please --when you receive a box I would like to know that the box has landed.  When you send the box on to its new home, I would like to have a tracking number sent to me. Since we send these wonderful stashes Priority, that tracking number is Free and can be found on your receipt.

Now don’t fret, while you are going to be doing this; I’m going to make it a point to personally contact with each person coming & going as a way to make sure there are no problems with the boxes in way.  If you have a question of any kind, this will help resolve any issues quickly to insure that the boxes moving along nicely and also insure the quality keeps people wanting to play.  This leads me to list the rules again.  I hope by doing this, it make them easier for you can “cut & paste” them when it comes adding them to your posting.

So here are the Rules:
1.    Be an ACTIVE blogger. Post about receiving and the when the give away is on your blog in a timely manner. Please be sure to add pictures of the contents, what you take & what you put into the box.
2.    Please contact the Moderator --Tricia @ quercus0828 {at} yahoo {dot} com when you receive the box with box #.
3.    There is a note in the box that logs where the box has been.  Please add your info and place the note back in the box.
4.    This is a list of Rules and Guidelines in the box.  Please read and follow these and return the list back to the box.
5.    You may take anything you like from the box, just replace every item with comparable quilt shop quality items equal to the amount taken.  See the Guidelines below.
6.    Ship the box to the next person in a reasonable amount of time.
7.    Contact the Mod. With a tracking number when you ship.
8.    Due to amount of the cost of Priority shipping, (med. box is $12.35) in only with the USA.  Sorry for that our International Friends.

The definition of a stash is a semi-secret store of quilty valuables that makes its way around the country from one quilter to another.  It is a fun way to for quilter’s to freshen their stash with the contents and to past something on in a Pay-It-Forward fashion. What it is -- is a collection of usable quality products that might be the thing that the quilter needs to finish that UFO or current project for the cost of a Medium Priority Flat Rate box that runs about $12.35 at this time.  The stash box should contain 70% or more in fabrics with a few patterns, books and/or magazines.  Notions, homemade items, journals or other things that might interest quilter’s are okay to add.  But it’s those lovely fabrics that get us drooling over boxes as they move about. So let them be the highlight of the box.
1.    Fabric: Should be quilt shop quality in new condition.  Scraps should only be included if they are cut for adding to a collection and packaged accordingly {i/e/ “I Spy squares, postage stamp squares, etc.} There should be not anything under a Fat Quarter unless packaged like this.
2.    Patterns/Books/Magazines: Should be in new or gently used condition.  They should be kept to a minimum {books and bulky & add weight}.
3.    Other Items: Should be in new or gently used condition.  Tools, notions, etc. – these items should be packaged if necessary.

Important Things to Remember:
1.    If you receive a box with anything that is in “poor” condition, you shouldn’t feel guilty in removing the item from the box, but Please do NOT announce it.  Let’s keep the boxes neat but be discreet. These boxes have been going around for several years now.  If you have any doubts, contact the Moderator.
2.    Only put items in the box that you, yourself; would be happy to receive and to own.  The box is NOT a dumping ground for all your unwanted & out-dated items.
3.    Items should be clean, smoke and pet hair free due to allergies.
4.    Your must replace items that you take with the same quantity of like-kind items.  Replacing more than you take is always welcome.  ;)  There is a guide to Pre-Cut amounts below for your reference.
5.    If you feel that the box is busting out at the seams, splitting it into 2 boxes is okay, please just let the Moderator know so she can give it a number and add it to the list.
Guidelines to Pre-Cut Fabric Amounts:
1.    Jelly Rolls strips are 2.5”wide, so every 10 strips is 2/3 yards {plus an inch}. 30 strips is 2 yards plus 3 inches, 40 strips is 2.75 yards, and 50 strips is 3.5 yards.
2.    Honey Buns strips are 1.5” wide, so 10 strips is just slightly less than 1/3 yard.  40 strips are 1-2/3 yards.
3.    Desert Roll strips are Ten (5’x45”) strips and just slightly over 1-1/3 yard.
4.    Turnovers are Eighty (6”) triangles and equals to slightly over 1 yard.
5.    Charm Squares are 5” squares.  Forty (5”) squares is equal to 2/3‘s of a yard.
6.    Layer Cakes are the 10” squares.  Forty (10”) squares are equal to 2-3/4 yards.

Thank You for reading this and helping to make the Traveling Stash Boxes a pleasurable experience!!  If you still have any questions or comments or concerns, please - please contact me @ quercus0828 {at} yahoo {dot} com. Until next time…
